Important Notice: Museum Closure & National Trust Takeover
The National Trust is taking over operation of all Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust (IGMT) museums from 2 March 2026.
All IGMT sites will close after trading on Sunday 22 February 2026.
After the transfer completes, there will be a period of closure for assessments, works, and installation of new IT infrastructure.
Update (Ironbridge Gorge NT): confirmed reopening dates
- Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron & the Furnace Kitchen: Wednesday 20 May 2026
- Furnace Kitchen opening hours (current): 7 days a week, 9am–5pm
- Blists Hill Victorian Town: Thursday 21 May 2026
- The Iron Bridge Tollhouse: Thursday 25 June 2026
- Opening hours: 10am–4pm, 7 days a week (free-flow visits)
- Jackfield Tile Museum: weekends from Saturday 27 June 2026 (pre-booked visits)
- Booking: initially, visitors need to pre‑book to visit Blists Hill (free for National Trust members and IGMT Pass/Pass Plus holders, but booking is still required).
